Call for Artisans, Artists, & Creatives
Join Art Tripping in the Makerspace at the 2023 Black Bear Americana Music Festival! The festival will take place at the Goshen Fair Grounds in CT from October 6th – 8th.
We are looking for 25 creatives to fill the Makerspace! There is no fee if you provide a demonstration or a workshop for attendees each day. You may charge a materials fee for a workshop if the participant takes away something they made. We are hoping to advertise an itinerary of demos and workshops on the Black Bear website leading up to the event and have people reserve spots for workshops. The idea is to give festival-goers more entertainment in addition to the musical acts.
The Makerspace will be located inside the large barn so weather will not be an issue, but if the weather is inclement, it will drive hundreds of campers and day trippers inside! You will want to define your space with your tents or tables for your set up.
Art Tripping plans to provide workshops as well. Last year, we offered pumpkin carving and the Grand Slambovian Orchestra's glamorized, BOHO, lit-up umbrellas workshop!
Camping will be available for vendors and will only cost a fee based on your electricity needs or if you will have an RV. There were over 200 campsites last year with campers who stayed for the whole weekend to enjoy the festival.
If you only want to sell your wares at the festival, you can book a space for a fee on the Black Bear website. In the menu, click Festival Info, then Apply to Vend. Additional vendors are set up outside close to the action and food trucks. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be notified if you are selected.
Please note that insurance is required for both vending and workshops and demonstrations in the Makerspace. If you need insurance, we refer folks to ACT Insurance, a carrier that specializes in 'artisans, crafters, and tradesmen. Goshen Fairgrounds must be listed as additionally insured, address above.
We hope to see you there!
